USM is seeking a qualified graduate or current student to step forward and serve the University as a Receptionist on a part-time basis, 20 hours per week, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday with flexibility to cover additional occasional shifts for other Reception team members on an as-needed basis.
The ideal candidate for this role has a natural Service Consciousness and a Heartfelt intention to serve the USM Community with Loving. Receiving, greeting, and welcoming people to USM with warmth and professionalism and anchoring the Light at Reception are at the core of this essential USM Staff role.
This position is supervised by the Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Answering phones, directing callers to the optimal department, and welcoming visitors. Additional responsibilities include announcing and directing appointments, processing mail, accepting deliveries, office supply inventory management and ordering, and general office support.
Qualifications and skills:
Gifted in holding the Light and Seeing the Loving Essence.
Excellent interpersonal and Heart-Centered Listening skills.
Grounded and Centered with a keen ability to anchor the Loving energy in the Heart of the USM Building at the Reception desk.
Keen ability to create a warm and welcoming environment in which to receive callers and in-person visitors.
Professional and friendly presence both in person and over the phone.
Highly flexible, organized, and self-directed with the ability to work independently.
Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Efficiency and effectiveness in directing customer requests to the appropriate departments.
Joyful and uplifting team spirit and clear alignment with the University’s mission.
Basic Mac computer skills a plus.
